What Aicura does & doesn't do
The canonical list. No compliance scores, no certification, not legal advice. Read this before you buy.
Why this page exists
Marketing pages for compliance tooling tend to overclaim. They talk about "automating compliance", about "AI-powered compliance scores", about "certification-grade audit trails". Aicura is deliberately built to refuse those claims, because the claims are false in ways that hurt the people who believe them. This page exists so you can decide, before you buy, whether you want a tool that refuses the claims.
What Aicura does
- Catalogues your AI systems in a structured register so you know what exists.
- Reviews uploaded documents (privacy policies, governance policies) against rules extracted from Australian legislation and guidance, and returns specific recommendations.
- Generates draft content (transparency statements, policy drafts, risk assessment outputs) that your team then reviews, edits and approves.
- Publishes a weekly briefing on Australian AI governance developments, written by Aicura and delivered inside the product.
- Tracks workflow state so your team knows what's outstanding and what's been done.
- Gives you a working environment for the people in your organisation who do the governance work.
What Aicura doesn't do
- Doesn't compute compliance scores. There is no number in the product that tells you what percentage compliant you are, because that number cannot be true and we refuse to fabricate it.
- Doesn't display progress bars. Progress bars require a denominator, and the denominator here is always unknowable. A bar that claims you're 80% done with governance is a bar that's lying to you.
- Doesn't certify or attest. Certification is a formal process performed by accredited third parties, and Aicura is software, so it doesn't qualify. Aicura's risk assessments support your governance work and are not an assessment in the formal regulatory sense. Where the product records an attestation, that is your own accountable owner attesting to their own work. Aicura never attests to anything, and the Evidence Vault records what you put in it rather than vouching for it.
- Doesn't provide legal advice. Aicura's outputs are generated from Aicura's reading of the frameworks. Your lawyers are responsible for legal advice. We're designed to make their job faster, not to replace it.
- Doesn't guarantee the AI got it right. Every AI-generated output is a draft and every draft needs human review, and the product makes this explicit in the UI at the point of generation rather than buried in terms of service.
- Doesn't publish anything on your behalf. We generate drafts. You publish the final version using whatever process your organisation uses for publishing things.
- Doesn't benchmark you against other customers. We don't tell you "organisations like yours typically have X". We don't use your data to feed anyone else's dashboard.
- Doesn't guarantee regulatory coverage. The product covers specific Australian frameworks that we've done the work on, not everything that might apply to every customer. Identifying applicable obligations is your responsibility.
Why these boundaries are features
Every boundary on this page is a place where a different company would be tempted to overclaim, because overclaiming is how you close bigger deals faster. We don't overclaim because our buyers are compliance and privacy leads who will notice. They will notice because they spend all day telling their own organisations to not overclaim. Selling them a tool that does the exact thing they're fighting against is a bad business model.
The plain version ("we support the work, your people do the work") is slower to sell but produces a working relationship with the customer that lasts, and it also produces a product the people building it can defend. Both matter.
What to do if you want more than this
Aicura is not the right tool for every buyer. Three things people sometimes want that you should look for elsewhere.
- A certified compliance artefact you can hand to a regulator. That's a law firm or an accredited certification body.
- A scoring dashboard that gives executives a green light. That's a different category of product, and we think you should think carefully before you buy one.
- A fully automated compliance process with no human review. That's not a real thing, and no product delivers it, even the ones that claim to.
If you're looking for a working environment that makes your governance team's actual work faster, Aicura is that.
